What do you do at TwinFitness?
I am a Junior Manager of Personal Training, as well as a Personal Trainer. I manage trainers, on-board new trainers, new client consults, create and implement marketing ideas, financial support, nutrition consults, etc.
What influenced you to become a trainer?
I grew up playing sports specifically soccer which I played through my freshman year of college. I have always loved anatomy and kinesiology classes (learning the muscles and how the body moves). I knew that I always wanted to be a part of the healthcare field because I love taking care of people but I could never get over the blood and needles thing.
What special elements, skills, or talents do you bring to TwinFitness clients?
Before joining the TwinFitness staff, I worked in the physical therapy environment for 7 years. I have gained a lot of knowledge on how the body should move during function, such as which muscles should be activating during each exercise and proper cueing to help clients find the right muscle. I am also able to help clients with any restrictions or compensations that may be causing them pain or dysfunction.
Why do you enjoy working at TwinFitness?
I love the positive atmosphere and everyone I work with. I love that we specialize in females and have a small studio environment. I love working with our wide range of clientele; I see high school clients all the way up to clients in their 80s. I love helping out clients achieve the goals that they set out to reach and the transformations that they go through. I love being able to help clients with any pain or injuries that they might have. I love the flexibility in my schedule and that I still have the ability to wake up in the mornings and run with my dog or take her to the park in the afternoons.
What is your most important accomplishment?
My most important accomplishment is marrying my husband of 4 years.
Where were you born and raised?
St. Charles, Missouri
Time freezes for everyone but you for one day. What do you do?
Anything outdoors. Hike, Bike, White Water Rafting, Snorkeling, Paddle Boarding.
What is the best way to stay motivated and complete goals?
Lists and schedules. I am an organized, Post-it freak. Being around TwinFitness clients also motivates me to push harder.
