What do you do at TwinFitness?
I am the education lead and nutrition lead here at TwinFitness. I help with onboarding new trainers and continuing education for the current. I also help put together our nutrition consult talking points and am the trainer you will use if you take advantage of our online nutrition program called, Orange Level.
What influenced you to become a trainer?
I gained a lot of weight very fast before college. I lost half of it (20lbs) doing cardio and went into college with an Art Education in mind. I knew I needed to lose another 20lbs so I started working at a gym to receive a free membership. I met a trainer there that trained me for free once a week. I lost another 20lbs and fell in love with how it made me feel. I then changed my major to exercise science/physical education and never looked back.
What special elements, skills, or talents do you bring to TwinFitness clients?
I am a research nerd and really enjoy the endocrine aspect of weight loss. Resting metabolism is all made up of our hormones and how we eat. Nutrition, endocrine systems, and strength training are my specialties. I am an educator that takes a scientific approach and also have a knack for holding people accountable.
Why do you enjoy working at TwinFitness?
I really enjoy the family environment. I could train anywhere and find a way to like it, because I am helping others and that is my passion. However, there is not a place out there like TwinFitness. It truly is the most unique, female empowering environment I have ever been a part of. I would not train anywhere else, ever.
What is your most important accomplishment?
My most important accomplishment is giving life to my two children and guiding them to be the best version of themselves and leading them to Christ. There is nothing more important and rewarding and there never will be.
Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in Franklin (Nashville) Tennessee
What is your spirit animal?
An Owl. Quiet, Wise, Majestic, Beautiful, Sees all, and hears all.
Where and when was the most amazing sunset you have ever seen?
When I was a teenager we snuck on top of a fire tower in the woods at sunset, it was amazing to see that view point.
What trend from your childhood do you wish would come back?
I am pretty sure they all already have, but I am a huge fan of very flared bell bottoms.
Who would be the best person to be stuck in an elevator with?
My husband, of course.
Time freezes for everyone but you for one day. What do you do?
Sit on the beach with my family and remember my children as they are in this stage.
What is the best way to stay motivated and complete goals?
Find an internal flame that becomes a burning desire that NOTHING can change or get in the way. NOTHING will stop you. No one can give that to you, you have to find it. You HAVE to want it.
What is the most comfortable piece of clothing you own?
A really old T-shirt that has been washed a million times and I would never be caught dead wearing out of the house.
