29 Jul Thinking Positively Will Help You Establish a Healthy Lifestyle
As coaches we want to remind you that the treasure of the journey you are on is in the process! We all crave a beautiful end result, but the true beauty resides on the way there! We understand that it can be easy to get discouraged and negative when results do not happen immediately. We live in an immediate society, so it is very easy to automatically think that this journey will be a quick one too. Mother Nature will not conform to modern society! She is headstrong and demands consistency over time in order to get lasting results in health and fitness.
There are things you can do as you put in the day-to-day work that will help you appreciate the journey and give you a sense of gratification in the process! Focusing on positive accomplishments is one of those daily practices! Being positive has to be intentional though. Most people tend to default to negativity because it is so contagious and easy. Think about it in the terms of gravity. If you stand on a chair, and your friend stands on the ground, would it be easier to pull your friend up on the chair or for her to pull you down to the ground? Of course going down is the easiest option. Our thoughts can operate in the same manner as gravity. You, however, are not the kind of person who does the easy thing! You have the ability to choose positive in your life! You can defy the norm!
Two ways to add this powerful tool of positive thinking into your life are:
1. Stop throughout your day and notice your thoughts. Really examine the way you are thinking. If it is not positive, uplifting, and encouraging, you have the power to replace the negativity with positive thoughts, which cause energizing emotions. If you do this several times a day (maybe do it every time you eat a scheduled meal), you may notice your thought patterns are more negative than you thought they might be. That’s okay, replace them! The transformation of renewing your mind with positive thoughts is very empowering to your fitness journey!
2. At night, end your day on a positive note by keeping a journal by your bed and recording one way you made positive progress in your fitness journey that day! You may have had some setbacks throughout the day, but chances are you had positives too! Record one positive and meditate on that as you fall asleep! If you find yourself dreading your day as you wake up in the morning, reread your positive journal entry and revive yourself for a positive day!
You control your thoughts, and you control your health and fitness journey. Thinking positively will greatly help you establish a healthy lifestyle and enjoy your fitness journey! It is easy to be negative, but you are not an easy person! You are strong, and because of that, we believe in you! We believe that you will establish this positive lifestyle, and that you will enjoy your new fit life with vibrancy!
